YouthLINK Recognition Night – May 2013

The Larimer County Workforce Center’s YouthLINK program is dedicated to serving youth ages 16-21 who are living in poverty and also facing barriers to finding and/or keeping employment.  Many participants enter this program lacking a high school diploma or a GED.  These participants work incredibly hard with a Youth Career Specialist to accomplish their educational and career goals.

The Larimer County Workforce Center’s YouthLINK program is hosting a Recognition Night for YouthLINK participants who have recently earned their GED. This bi-annual event will feature over twenty-five graduates to be recognized at the ceremony. Please join us as we congratulate the graduates on all of their hard work and determination!

Calling All Youth 14-21 – Get registered today for Career Road Trips & Summer Employment

The Larimer County Workforce Center is currently offering two summer programs geared towards preparing Larimer County youth for the world of employment and future careers!

The Summer Youth Employment Program is looking for youth candidates, ages 16-18, to be considered by local businesses for part-time employment opportunities.  Youth candidates who participate will complete the Larimer County Workforce Center job readiness workshops and a final employment consultation with an Employment Specialist.  The workshop curriculum provides necessary tools to begin and continue successfully in the workplace while the one-on-one employment consultation will review the candidate’s job search portfolio and identify specific positions of interest.

Interested youth should complete the application for the Summer Youth Employment Program, found on the Larimer County Workforce Center website at www.larimerworkforce.org/syep

Through Career Road Trips, youth ages 14-21will tour behind the scenes of local businesses and interact with professionals in emerging industries. All tours are free and transportation is provided! Participants will leave with an understanding of the following:

  • Local employers and their future hiring needs
  • Skills & education to be successful
  • The day-to-day work duties in up & coming careers
  • Employer expectations of the next generation workforce
