Career Transition Services

Explore Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Career Transition and Training Services. There is no time like the present to make the right connections and to gain access to the resources and training opportunities you need to succeed!

Career Transition Services is currently prioritizing veterans and eligible spouses for services.  

Services are customized to meet the needs of each individual job seeker, including:
  • Labor market information for identifying hiring trends in our region
  • Career planning assessments and resources to identify your next career move
  • Intensive job search assistance to find your next opportunity
  • Scholarship assistance to fund training costs
  • Work-based learning connections to gain hands-on experience

Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) and WIOA (For Providers)

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) certification process ensures that Coloradoans and customers in WIOA programs (i.e., Adult, Dislocated Worker) can find quality training programs that provide credentials upon completion.

Follow the steps below to apply and have your training programs and/or courses ETPL certified and recognized as granting credentials for WIOA programs.

  • The training provider must be licensed, registered, or otherwise legally exempted by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Division of Private and Occupational Schools or other oversight agency *Link Below
  • The training provider must list its programs and/or courses on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL).
  • Complete and submit the application to request ETPL listing for any trainings *Link Below

Larimer County Veterans Service Office

The Larimer County Veterans Service Office provides services to veterans and their families including:

  • Filing for an obtaining veterans benefits
  • Claim counseling, developing, and representation

Layoff Alternatives: The Work-Share Program

The Work-Share Program offers an alternative to employers who are considering a reduction in workforce. Employers may be eligible to reduce and “share” employee hours rather than layoff. To compensate for the reduction in hours, employees may receive part of their regular unemployment benefits.

Layoff Assistance

Layoff assistance (also known as Rapid Response) through LCEWD provides an employer pro-active, business-focused strategies to respond to layoffs and plant closures. LCEWD staff and Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) work with employers to provide services to affected workers.

Services Include:

  • On-site transition information session and job search workshops.
  • Information for the business related to the Unemployment Insurance Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification (WARN Act).
  • Information on job search, Unemployment Insurance, and community services available to employees.

The Northern Colorado Networking Group (NoCoNet) specializes in practicing job search skills, interviewing, and networking with companies and the people who work there.

pathwayU

PathwayU guides you through your education, career and employment paths so you can live with joy and purpose. The online platform is designed to be a self-paced, easy-to-use guide for self discovery and career exploration. To access the service, at no cost, you will need to set-up an account.

Registered Apprenticeship Programs

Registered Apprenticeship helps mobilize America’s workforce with structured, on-the-job training in traditional industries such as construction and manufacturing, as well as new high-growth industries such as health care, information technology, energy, telecommunications, advanced manufacturing and more. Registered Apprenticeship connects job seekers with employers looking for qualified workers, resulting in a trained workforce and employers with a competitive edge.

Trade Act

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) provides benefits to workers who lose their jobs, or whose hours of work and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports, or whose jobs were exported offshore (“trade-affected workers”). The TAA benefits include a variety of reemployment services designed to help trade-affected workers prepare for and obtain suitable employment.

Unemployment Insurance Resources

Unemployment Insurance through the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) provides temporary and partial wage replacement to workers who have become unemployed through no fault of their own.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit that encourages employers to hire targeted groups of job seekers. WOTC can reduce employer federal tax liability by as much as $2,400 to $9, 600 per new hire.
