The Summer Youth Employment Program, designed for youth ages 16-18, began in May 2011. The Program consists of three mandatory workshops, resume building, interview skills, and soft skills, with an optional workshop of job searching skills. Candidates have also been expected to participate in a consultation with a Youth Career Specialist to finalize their employment goals and to give one-on-one feedback on their resume and interviewing skills.

Once the candidate has completed all requirements they are submitted to a virtual job fair where employers can view their resume and request to interview candidates they feel are qualified for their open positions.  Some employers were recruited specifically for this program, and other employers who hired the candidates were found by the candidates themselves.

Employers who hired these candidates are represented on both the cover page and on page 2 of this report. Statistics represent candidates who participated May- July 2011.
