Larimer County Workforce Center Youth Services is looking for youth candidates, ages 16-18, to be considered by local businesses for part-time employment opportunities for spring and summer 2013. There are multiple employers who will be interviewing candidates who complete this preparation program for summer youth employment.
Candidates who fill out applications and are selected to take part in this job search program will participate in job readiness workshops and a final employment consultation with a youth services staff member. The Summer Youth Employment Program includes:
- Job Search 101 Workshop (2 hours)
- Resume Building Workshop (2 hours)
- Interviewing Skills Workshop (2 hours)
- Professionalism 101 Workshop (2 hours)
- One-on-one employment consultation
The one-on-one employment consultation will include a brief mock interview, a review of the candidate’s job search portfolio, and to identify specific positions of interest.
We expect several different positions encompassing a wide variety of industries in Larimer County. Although positions are not guaranteed, the Summer Youth Employment Program has been found to increase the likelihood of summer employment for youth candidates.
